Case study: Montage makes learning more accessible at Lega del Filo d'Oro

14th June 2021

Lega del Filo d’Oro, Italy, uses DisplayNote Montage to make learning more accessible for students with sensory difficulties.

Introduction

Lega del Filo d’Oro is an Association in Osimo, Italy, that works with children with severe sensory difficulties. The organization was created to improve the living conditions of deafblind and psychosensory impaired people of all ages. For over 50 years, the Association has been assisting, educating, rehabilitating, and reintegrating deafblind children back into society to give them more personal autonomy in their lives.

The Problem

Lega del Filo d’Oro need solutions that help make learning more accessible for their students with severe sensory difficulties. For the children in the classroom that still have a small amount of sight, the teachers rely on a large touch screen at the front of the room for displaying content in a larger format. Broadcasting the content on the large screen means students with visual impairments can follow the material with more ease.

The teachers, therefore, need an easy and hassle-free way to share the content from their personal devices to the big screen.

The Solution

Using DisplayNote Montage alongside their interactive touch screen, the teachers now have easy, wireless screen sharing from their devices. With the DisplayNote app installed on their tablets, the teachers can share content to the big screen at the touch of a button. The children can follow the material and feel more engaged in the lessons.

Results

Screen sharing is now seamless. The teachers at Lega del Filo d’Oro no longer have to physically connect to a PC or set up cables; they can easily share apps and materials from their desktop or tablets to the main screen. Plus, with PC back control, they can also open apps on their desktops from the interactive touch screen - giving them more freedom and flexibility to move about the room.

With Montage installed on their screen, the teachers can also:

  • Annotate and screen share at the same time
  • Screen share across any network (local or guest)
  • Invite students to screen share from their own devices

Lega del Filo d’Oro:

“Montage is a very stimulating tool for our students. Being able to share from the teachers’ tablet to the screen is so important to us.”
Lessons are more accessible now. Every child has the same access to the lesson material.
