Accessibility Statement
At DisplayNote, we are committed to making our websites and software solutions accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We recognize the importance of digital accessibility and are actively working towards compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the European Accessibility Act, effective June 2025.
Our Commitment
We aim to ensure that our digital experiences are accessible to the widest possible audience. This includes designing and developing our website and software with accessibility in mind, following best practices to improve usability for individuals with disabilities.
We will start our accessibility audits with our marketing sites:
- Main website – displaynote.com
- Academy – academy.displaynote.com
- Store – store.displaynote.com
We will then move on to our product websites:
- DisplayNote Join page – displaynote.com/join
- Broadcast Online – broadcast.online
Our Support Center (support.displaynote.com), provided through Zendesk, is also included in our accessibility considerations. While we have less control over its functionality, we will manually review its content and ensure adequate colour contrast for readability.
Our display-based products will receive the same attention, including:
- Montage
- Launcher
- Omni
- Broadcast
- Connecting apps for desktop, tablet, and mobile
Any custom versions of these apps that have been provided to our partners will also be included.
While we’re working behind the scenes to improve this, currently you should be able to:
- Change colours, contrast levels, and fonts using browser or device settings (extension required for Chrome browsers).
- Zoom in up to 400% without the text splitting off the screen.
- Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.
- Have closed captions available on all multimedia.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver).
We aim to create website text that is simple to understand. We’re in the process of reviewing our current publications to ensure the readability of our content meets the required standard.
For additional accessibility support, AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Steps we are taking
To meet accessibility standards and enhance the user experience for all, we are:
- Conducting Accessibility Audits – We aim to review our website and software using industry-standard tools such as Accessibility Checker to identify and address accessibility barriers.
- Following WCAG 2.2 Guidelines and Compliance with the European Accessibility Act – We are aligning our development practices with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards to ensure an inclusive digital experience. Insights gained from our accessibility audits will inform our improvements, allowing us to implement necessary changes that meet or exceed the required accessibility standards and comply with the European Accessibility Act ahead of the 2025 deadline. This approach ensures our digital solutions are continuously assessed and enhanced to meet legal requirements and improve usability for all users.
- Enhancing Keyboard Accessibility – We are conducting thorough manual testing across all platforms to ensure that users can navigate our website and software using only a keyboard, addressing any barriers to seamless keyboard interaction.
- User Testing with Assistive Technologies – We hope to incorporate testing with screen readers and other assistive technologies to identify and resolve usability issues.
- Training Our Team – We are introducing steps to educate our team on accessibility best practices to ensure accessibility is integrated from the start.
- Providing Alternative Access – Where full compliance is not yet possible, we are committed to offering alternative means of accessing information and services.

Enforcement Procedure
DisplayNote is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
If you’re not satisfied with how we respond to your complaint, please contact the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI). ECNI is responsible for enforcing the accessibility regulations.
Content That’s Not Within the Scope of the Accessibility Regulations
PDFs and Other Documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. However, we plan to remove or replace some of these documents with more accessible content alternatives. Wherever possible, we avoid PDFs, opting instead for structured web pages in HTML.
Videos
Some of our older videos do not meet accessibility standards because they lack captions. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix videos published before 23 September 2020. However, we are actively working to add captions to the most popular older videos.
