DisplayNote has extended its Central Manager platform to enable education IT teams to centrally manage Montage, its screen sharing software for shared teaching spaces, providing a more scalable way to oversee classroom technology across Android and Windows environments.

Available now, Central Manager adds a centralised management layer for schools, districts and multi-site education estates using Montage. It enables IT teams to remotely manage, monitor, configure and support classroom devices from one place, helping remove technology friction behind the scenes without changing the way teachers and students use Montage in the classroom.

For schools and districts, the challenge is no longer simply whether technology works in an individual classroom. Education IT teams are responsible for growing numbers of rooms and devices, often across multiple sites. Different configurations, limited visibility and problems that only become apparent once a lesson has started can create unnecessary friction for everyone involved.

For teachers, that friction can mean losing lesson time troubleshooting technology. For students, it can interrupt the flow of teaching and learning. For IT administrators, it can mean responding reactively to issues room by room rather than having the visibility to manage technology consistently across the wider estate.

Central Manager is designed to reduce those points of friction. This new addition brings management capabilities to DisplayNote’s screen sharing software. Montage enables teachers and students to share content from a range of devices using app and browser-based access, AirPlay, Miracast and Google Cast, alongside capabilities including touchback, moderator control and broadcasting.

Together, Montage and Central Manager are designed to support two sides of the same classroom experience. Montage keeps sharing content simple for the people in the room, while Central Manager gives IT teams the tools to manage the technology supporting that experience at scale.

For teachers, the management layer remains in the background. There is no need to change how they use Montage or introduce additional steps into a lesson. Instead, IT teams have greater visibility over the technology estate, helping them identify issues, maintain consistent configurations and support rooms before technology becomes a distraction.
