Head of People & Culture

Tell us a bit more about your role at DisplayNote

So, my favorite part of heading up the PeopleOps team is the opportunity to build a team of expertise backed by creativity, diversity of thought, and the ability to challenge conventional approaches to how we scale the culture and teams. The team and I are fortunate enough to be highly visible, make a positive impact, and collaborate with every aspect of the business. The main focus is to directly influence how we scale our culture and ensure it fits us and aligns with our values – not just “let’s do this because other places do it.”

PeopleOps is all about relationships, and it starts with listening to our people and cultivating transparency, empathy, and empowerment. We work hard to strive for better…always. We build strategies and plans around ways to continuously improve and adapt, ensure our teams feel supported to grow, our people feel empowered to be their authentic selves, that leaders are supporting career development and that future talent has a good understanding of who we are, what we value, where we’re heading and how they can be a key part of that journey.

We focus on the big picture, “what works now and can scale?”, “what can we learn from the past?”, “what do our people need to be set up for success?”. Focusing on this helps balance the alignment of our people with our business goals and overall commercial success. This is underpinned by a people-first culture, our values, and by empowering everyone to take ownership of their career and recognize the huge positive impact they make every day.

What’s your greatest personal achievement during your time in the company?

Making my first hire on my team and bringing in a highly talented person with bags of potential to focus on Talent Acquisition and already seeing her finding her feet in only her second week.

What can we find you doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I’m either spending time with the family or playing golf. I’d love to say traveling to new places, which I love to do, but that has taken a backseat the past couple of years, for obvious reasons.

You’re in your favorite coffee shop, what are you ordering?

I do love a Caramel Latte, but with my favorite time of year being Autumn, I’d say that’s maybe 90% driven by Pumpkin Spice Lattes….basic, I know.

It’s lunchtime and you’re at the deli. You have free reign to create your ultimate sandwich. What’s in it?

Prawn Marie Rose, Crispy Bacon, Avocado, Croutons, Tomato, Lettuce, and Red Onion on Granary.

You’ve been given a free holiday – where are you off to?

As a big golf fan, I’ve always wanted to get over to Georgia, USA in April and head to Augusta National for the Masters!…… Maybe someday.
